Holi is an ancient Hindu festival and it is also known as the "festival of colours". It is now celebrated with zeal all around the world. Holi helps to bring the society together and strengthen the secular fabric of our country. People irrespective of caste and creed celebrate this festival with full glory. Many stories are behind this colorful festival and all say about the victory of truth over lie. It also signifies the victory of good over evil. Coming back to delicacies, Holi was my favourite festival in childhood because of food and of course of playing colors with friends. I liked to enjoy different delicacies prepared by my mother and grandmother. Here are some delicacies prepared at our home :
Malpua
Dahi Wade
Matar kachori
Jackfruit sabji
Custard.
So, today I am going to share the recipe of "Malpua", prepared at our home. There are different version of making it, almost most of the people know how to make but this one is easy and delicious to enjoy. So, here are the ingredients and instructions to make it ;
Ingredients:
Six ripe banana.
Half litre boiled milk
Sugar 1/2 cup
All-purpose flour 2 cups/wheat flour 2 cups.
Fennel seeds
Some crushed dry fruits (it is optional)
Cardamom powder
Ghee to fry
Instructions:
First, take boiled milk and bring it to the room temperature.
With the help of hand, mash bananas and add it into the milk.
Sieve maida and add it into the milk banana batter.
Add sugar in the batter and dissolve it completely. Don't add water, make sure your batter should be little thick like idli batter.
Add fennel seeds, cardamom powder, and crushed dry fruits.
Put kadhai on a stove, add ghee into it. Now with the help of big spoon take out the batter and fry it on low medium flame till golden brown.
Take out in a paper napkin to drain excess oil.
You can put rabdi on top or simple milkmaid can also work. Your simple malpua is ready.
